Reach For The Stars

Today I just wanted to talk about goals. I saw this quote and it made me think of something my parents used to always tell me when I was growing up… “Reach for the stars, no matter how far, and you’ll always get one.”

I never forgot that. I guess some people might say I set my goals too high, but is there really such a thing? Is it really possible to set a goal, a dream, an ambition “too high?”

I don’t think so. The higher you set your goals, the greater chance you’ll have of reaching them.

Why would I set my goals low? I always wondered that when people told me not to reach for the stars…when they told me to just start with the clouds. I didn’t want a cloud. I wanted a star!

The reasons they gave were as lame as the advice they gave. They would say, “ You have a greater chance of reaching the clouds.” Or, “The clouds are a lot easier to reach.”

So what?

If I wanted a cloud, I’d go for a cloud, but if I want a star, I’m going for the biggest, brightest star I can find!

You can, too!

Set your goals high, and keep working towards them all the time, and I guarantee you WILL get there.

It may take a while, in fact, it may take a long time, but don’t EVER give up, because I KNOW you will reach them! You deserve it after all your hard work!

My goal was to help my parents retire and to be able to spend more time with my friends and family instead of working all the time. And guess what? I’m on my way there! But the only reason I’m on my way there is because I didn’t give up.

I set my goals high, and I get closer and closer to them every single day.

The only way to reach your goals is to first set them. I’ll never ever tell you to set your goals low so you can easily reach them. And I’ll never tell you to give up when it gets difficult. But I will be here to support you and urge you on, because my friend, you can do it!

You are strong and intelligent. You are bold and brave. You can reach any goal you put your mind to.

I’m here for you if you need me. Whether you need help or just a listening ear. I’ll be here to support you until you don’t need my support anymore, and then I’ll still be rooting for you every step of the way!
