Have you ever wondered why some people are so lucky? Why they have all the money, all the fortune, and all the good luck? Well, I’m here to tell you that looks can be deceiving.
If you happened to run into someone that seems to have it all…purely good luck all the time, no worries, no problems, I can guarantee that success did not come easily. Unless you were born into fortune, the only thing that’s going to make your dreams come true is hard work and perseverance.
I haven’t been in the online business world for long, but I’ve been in it long enough to know that all that fame and fortune didn’t come overnight. The people who seem to have it all worked extremely hard to get it. They spent many sleepless nights trying new things, working on projects, and racking their brain for ideas.
You see, the problem now is that no one wants to work hard. We live in a time when everyone wants, wants, wants, but no one wants to give back. They look around and see other people with fancy cars, houses, and clothes, and they want it, too, but they don’t want to have to work for it.
It takes time, investment, and a ton of energy to create the life you want. Sitting around playing video games will NOT get you there. Standing around with your hand out will NOT get you there. Taking from others and not giving back will NOT get you there. But that seems to be what so many people believe nowadays. The old saying, “What’s yours is mine,” seems to be the way people think now.
Can you believe that there was even an idea out there that people could use anything they wanted, even if it didn’t belong to them?? They could use your tools, your property, your house! They didn’t work for any of it, but they could use it whenever they wanted to! I cannot believe that there was even such an idea!
I recently heard a great story about two high school girls. They were good friends. One of the girls, we’ll say her name is Wendy, worked hard all through high school. Instead of partying with her friends, she studied. Instead of cheating on tests, she studied. Instead of walking around with her hand out, she worked super hard to get to where she was. She worked so hard that she was going to graduate with a 4.0 GPA (grade point average), and she deserved every bit of it.
Her friend, let’s call her Cindy, was a different story. She didn’t study, she didn’t work hard, and she stood around with her hand out, wanting people to give, give, give. She partied instead of studying, she cheated on tests whenever she had the chance, and she basically “faked” her way through high school. Well, when it came time for the real exams, she failed. Instead of getting a 4.0, like her friend, Wendy, she was going to be held back with a 1.5 GPA.
One day after school, Wendy’s dad wanted to talk with her. He told her how proud he was of her and all her hard work. “But…” he said, “Your friend is not going to graduate, and I think that you should help her.”
Wendy was confused, “How can I help her, Dad? I’ve tried to help her study, I’ve been there for her so she can practice with me, I’ve given her all kinds of chances to work, but she didn’t want to. So, how am I supposed to help someone who doesn’t want to be helped?”
Her dad looked her right in the eyes and said, “Well, since you’re getting a 4.0 and she’s getting a 1.5, I thought it would be nice if you shared your GPA with her, so she can graduate. If you gave her part of your GPA, then you both could graduate. You could give her 1.25 of your GPA, then she could graduate with a 2.75 GPA and so could you.”
Wendy was appalled! Was he serious? All the hard work she did to do her best in school would be given to someone who could care less! So she argued with her father. “Dad! I worked hard for that GPA! I studied instead of partying, I did my best on tests instead of cheating, I worked my tail off for this GPA! I don’t want to just give it to someone else!”
Her dad chuckled. “Well, my dear, welcome to the real world. I’m so proud of you.”
Long story short, those people who worked their tails off to get to where they are shouldn’t have to give it all up for someone who didn’t work a day in their life.
If one wants the same fortunes, then they, too, should work for them. They should not stand around with their hand out, waiting for someone to give it to them. That is not the way the world works, nor should it be the way the world works.
The moral of the story is, if you want something, work for it. If you don’t work for it, you’ll never get it. It may sound harsh, but it’s true.
Yes, there are those outliers who will get a big payout by inheriting it, but those are outliers. That doesn’t happen to everyone. However, you can have the life you dream of if you put the time and effort into it.
Don’t stand around with your hand out, expecting others to give to you. Go get it yourself. Work hard, and good things will happen.
I suppose there will always be those people who want things to be given to them without working for them, but please don’t be one of them. There’s absolutely no reason you can’t have everything you wish for if you work for it!
You’ve been given all the tools you need, so use them. Build the life of your dreams with your own bare hands. You will be glad you did, and you will appreciate it even more.
